centennial 2011
We will have all the usual - a tent, a band, food and drink - and much, much more as befits our 100th birthday. WE WILL HAVE OLD MOVIES, SLIDE SHOWS, A “COMMUNITY ROAST,” BOOKS AND HATS FOR SALE, DANCING, SHARING...
And I personally can’t wait for the CENTENNIAL COMMUNITY JAM. In addition to Merrily Fenner’s band, we have lined up Steve Hart, Peter Pease, Marty Moore (more to come) and they are bringing their voices, guitars, drums and other instruments. Let us know if you’re in. As in the old days, we will entertain ourselves.

The Harthaven Jam
Reviving an old tradition - We are organizing a community JAM SESSION for the Centennial - already we have invited a talented group of singers and players to lead us - Mark Grandfield, Carol Abbe, Stephen Hart, Marty Moore and Peter Pease. It is rumored that the Gifford family will play, Walt on sax, Sarah on violin, Brian vocals, Peg on drums...
Let us know if you want to join. The Jammers will play and sing in between the sets by the pros and everyone is invited to join in. Good old-time do-it-yourself music (remember Gladys Abbe at the piano? - Like that.)

4:30 - 6:30 Music by Mark Grandfield and Harthaven Jam (all welcome to join in).
6:30 - 7:30 Music by DJ
7:30 - 10:30 Music by Merrily Fenner and The Stragglers - a wonderful and versatile Martha’s Vineyard Band.
